  • Dalton HeroCon - May 10, 2025

    Everyone is welcome to join us for a celebration of comics, creators, cosplay, community and eco-consciousness! Comics have always been used to spread messages of social justice and celebrate diversity. At HeroCon, we come together through our love of comics and pop culture to recognize the everyday hero in all of us! 

    Schedule and activities:


    12:30- Registration and doors open/Captain Blue Hen Bookshop
    1:00-1:15- Welcome, thank you’s and introductions of creators- HS Library
    1:15-1:45-  Panel with creators - Library
    2:00-2:40- Creative Nature NYC Secret Messages Workshop
    2:00-3:00- Drawing sessions with all four creators (in indvidual rooms: Sharee Miller, Jamar Nicholas, John
    Patrick Green and Misako Rocks!)
    2:15-3:00- Drag Story Hour - HS Library
    3:10-3:30- Cosplay Parade/Contest - HS Library
    3:00-3:40- Creative Nature NYC Secret Messages Workshop
    3:45-4:30- Drawing sessions with three creators (in individual rooms: Sharee Miller, Jamar Nicholas and Misako Rocks!) 
    4:00-4:40- Creative Nature NYC Secret Messages Workshop
    4:40-5:00- Book signings- Cafeteria

    **Dalton community members should bring their Dalton ID to tap into the building. All attendees from outside the Dalton community will have to present a government ID at registration.

    The MS Library is excited to share another year of award winning titles from the Youth Media Awards! Each year the American Library Association (ALA) honors books, audiobooks, and other outstanding materials for children and teens. Browse books and awards in the presentations below.
