Forty-Two Dalton Faculty and Staff Attend 2022 NAIS People of Color Conference

Dalton faculty and staff members continued their reputation as the most highly represented school at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) annual People of Color Conference (PoCC). Forty-two attendees from Dalton descended upon this year’s conference in San Antonio, Texas, marking a return to an in-person gathering.
The mission of the conference is to provide a safe space for leadership, professional development, and networking for people of color and allies of all backgrounds in independent schools. With seminars, master classes, and more than 100 workshops on diverse topics relevant to people of color in independent schools, PoCC equips educators at every level with knowledge, skills, and experiences to enhance and improve the interracial, interethnic and intercultural climate in their schools, as well as the attending academic, social-emotional and workplace performance outcomes for students and adults, alike.

One of the largest ovations of the event occurred when Head of School José De Jesús took the stage with his fellow school leaders from around the country!
