Dalton Connects: Entrepreneur Network Mixer and Panel

About 30 Daltonians gathered together on Wednesday, October 18, for the Dalton Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital networking event. Founded by Nick Slavin ’07 and David Cremin ’78 (Alumni Council member), the Network in its present form aims to encourage productivity and provide alumni interested in or pursuing entrepreneurial businesses with support, mentorship, and advice. Attendees included venture capitalists, private equity partners, entrepreneurs and service providers (attorneys, accountants, etc.), and we’re grateful to our host Cooley LLP for providing the venue and refreshments. The group hopes to include students as the network expands.
David Cremin ’78, Managing Director of Frontier Venture Capital, moderated the all-Dalton panel, which featured entrepreneur Ariane Finkel Goldman ’96, Founder/CEO, Hatch Collective; venture capital fund manager Adam Silverschotz ’07, Co-Founder, Tru Arrow Partners; and attorney Jean Park, Partner, Cooley, LLP.  The discussion focused on each panelist's experience over the past few years — as the small business market went from hotter than hot, then back to a more traditional cadence.

Before and after the program, over delicious refreshments, attendees networked hoping to spark new business opportunities and friendships. A range of Classes were represented at the event: It was incredible to see young Alumni — some who are second-generation Dalton Alums — catching up with their former mentors. One alumna, who was recently featured on Shark Tank, brought her branded snacks to share and promote with the crowd.

Since its inception, the Dalton Entrepreneur Network has already provided a number of businesses with assistance, support, and insight, and this event helped generate more connections and opportunities.

If you’re interested in becoming a member of this network or want to help organize future events, please contact Debbie Freeman dfreeman@dalton.org. Together, we make business happen.
