Dalton Tiger Report - This Week In Athletics (9/9-9/14)
The second week of the fall season saw the Dalton Tigers continue their winning ways across multiple sports.
Girls Soccer led the charge, securing two league victories. On Wednesday, they overwhelmed Riverdale by scoring three goals in just over five minutes during overtime, clinching a 4-1 win. They followed that up with a 3-0 clean-sheet victory over Fieldston on Friday. Looking ahead, the team faces Hackley and Sacred Heart on Monday and Wednesday, with a highly anticipated Homecoming showdown against Trinity on the horizon.
Girls Volleyball kept their momentum going after winning the season-opening invitational. In a thrilling match against Riverdale, Dalton came from behind after losing the first set to win 3-2. On Wednesday, they dominated the defending state champions Fieldston, sweeping them 3-0. Next up, the team will travel to Poly Prep for a key league matchup on Monday before facing Sacred Heart at home on Wednesday in preparation for a Homecoming matchup with Trinity.
The Cross Country teams also had a strong start to the season. The Boys team finished second overall at the first Ivy Developmental Meet and placed 9th out of over 20 teams at the competitive Regis Invitational on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Girls Tennis team celebrated their first win of the season, defeating Columbia Prep 3-2.
