Advice From Second Graders on Helping to Keep Dalton Green

During a recent House 91, a video describing the Green Recycle Challenge was presented by Second Graders. Students explained the recycle bins located in each House and what to place in each of them. The Green Recycle Challenge is a month long, inter-school competition that empowers students and builds community, while raising awareness about climate change and the importance of resource conservation. Second graders will be checking the recycling bins around the school and adding up the number of correct bins each week.
In an effort to keep Dalton Green, every Monday morning a second grade House creates a brief public service announcement. They announce the weekly progress that FP is making regarding recycling efforts and they offer weekly "Green" tips. Each second grade house met with Kevin Slick, high school history teacher and environmentalist, to learn how Dalton is recycling, reusing and reducing.
