Dalton Science Research Program Conducts Classic Experiments

Grade 9 history students are currently engaged in a study of the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment, and the presentation of experiments such as Galileo's acceleration experiment and his inclined plane experiment demonstrated the foundation of early modern scientific methods with its focus on experimentation, observation, and replication. Students quickly observed how these protocols inform their own views on scientific exploration and shape their own scientific inquiries and processes. The workshops also gave the DSRP students an opportunity to talk about their experiences as young scientists working in labs as interns and research assistants.
