Girls Varsity Soccer and Varsity Volleyball are headed to the NYSAIS Tournament Quarterfinals!
Girls Varsity Soccer is set to face the 5-seed, Trinity, in the NYSAIS postseason quarterfinals, while Varsity Volleyball gears up to take on 2-seed Chapin.
Girls Varsity Soccer showcased a dominant performance with a 3-0 win over Columbia Prep. A goal from junior Lucy Schell ’25 put Dalton ahead early in the game. The scoring continued with first-year Varsity players Thomasina McCluskey ’29 and Alexandra Henkin ’29, each adding goals to secure the lead by halftime. The Tigers' back line played a critical role as well, holding off Columbia Prep and maintaining a clean sheet for the entirety of the game. They’ll now face the 5-seed, Trinity, in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, October 30.
Varsity Volleyball also came out on top, defeating Horace Mann 3-1 in the opening round. Despite dropping the first set, the team rallied to win the next three sets consecutively. Their 3-1 victory secured a well-earned spot in the NYSAIS quarterfinals, where they’ll face the two-seed, Chapin, on Wednesday, October 30, at 5 PM. The team previously defeated Chapin earlier this year in an exciting 2-1 victory at the season-opening invitational tournament.
