The winter athletics season was an unforgettable one for the Dalton Tigers, marked by record-breaking performances, deep playoff runs, and championship titles.
Dalton Girls Basketball claimed its fourth consecutive NYSAIS championship with another dominant season, finishing 25-1. Over the past four years, the team has won 95 of 101 games, including a perfect 48-0 record in league play. This season also saw the team achieve a remarkable feat by extending their winning streak from 38 games at the start of the season to 58, the second-longest in New York state history. Dalton also finished the season as New York's No. 1 Class A team, as ranked by the New York State Sportswriters Association, for the second consecutive year.
Boys Basketball also had a remarkable year with a thrilling postseason run. After qualifying for the NYSAIS Class B tournament as the No. 5 seed with a 19-7 record and a second-place finish in the Ivy League, Dalton secured an exciting quarterfinal win over Long Island Lutheran Regional. The team then pulled off a stunning upset in the semifinals, defeating previously undefeated No. 1 seed Poly Prep 60-46. Although the run ended in the finals against New York State powerhouse Albany Academy, the team's season was one of the best in years.
Both Boys and Girls Squash teams made the NYSAIS tournament for the second consecutive year. The Girls team finished with an 8-6 overall record, highlighted by an exciting run to the Ivy tournament finals with a 6-1 win over Horace Mann and a 4-3 victory over Trinity before falling to Hackley. The Boys team finished 7-7 and earned the No. 6 seed in the NYSAIS tournament, where they fell in a narrow 4-3 loss to Avenues in the first round.
