Dalton senior Nyla Blake-Soden reached the 1,000-point milestone on Senior Night, celebrated by a crowd of her supporters.
Over her four years, Nyla has been a key player in the team’s three consecutive state championships. This achievement is one of several in her athletic career, including a recent nomination for the McDonald’s All-American game.
Nyla is also a standout in volleyball and outdoor track, where she holds eight school records. With six state championships, the most of any Dalton athlete, she is one of the school’s most accomplished multi-sport athletes. She will continue her athletic career at Brown University as part of their Track & Field program.
This milestone is part of a strong winter season for Dalton Basketball. Nyla is the third Dalton player to reach 1,000 points this season, joining teammates Izzy Wesley and junior Noah Khalid, who both reached the milestone last month. The Girls team heads into the playoffs aiming for a fourth consecutive state championship.
