Girls Varsity Basketball senior, Izzy Wesley '25, etched her name in school history on Wednesday, December 11, as she scored her 1,000th career point.
Girls Varsity Basketball senior, Izzy Wesley, reached a historic milestone on Wednesday, December 11, scoring her 1,000th career point in a commanding 63-20 victory over Poly Prep. The milestone moment was celebrated in front of an energetic crowd of family, friends, and Dalton community members, all gathered to support Izzy and witness this unforgettable achievement in her high school basketball career.
Since her freshman year, Izzy has been a driving force behind the team’s success, playing an integral role in the Girls Varsity Basketball program’s three consecutive Ivy League and NYSAIS Championship titles. Izzy is now the sixth female athlete in Dalton history to achieve the 1,000-point milestone, solidifying her place among the school’s all-time greats.
Notably, this marks the third consecutive season that Dalton Basketball players have reached this prestigious milestone. Izzy joins recent record-holders Mary Ashley Stevenson, who reached the milestone during her 2023 senior season for Girls Varsity Basketball, and Ayden Khalid, who accomplished the feat during his final season with Boys Varsity Basketball before graduating earlier this year in 2024.
After graduation, Izzy will continue her basketball journey at Brown University, but until then, we’re thrilled to see what she and the team will accomplish during her final Dalton Basketball season.
Congratulations to Izzy Wesley on this incredible accomplishment!
