Dalton Honors Warren Hines '88 with a Night of Competition and Community

This annual event honors the legacy of Warren Hines ’88, a Dalton student-athlete remembered for his team spirit, commitment, and kindness. Proceeds from the night support the Warren Hines Scholarship Fund.

One of the most anticipated events of the year for the Dalton community, Warren Hines Night featured exciting matchups across multiple sports. Boys JV Basketball set the tone early with a dominant 67-23 win over Trinity, while Girls JV Basketball battled Maria Regina in a hard-fought game, ultimately taking their first loss since the 2022-23 season. Despite the setback, the team’s strong performance contributed to the high-energy atmosphere that carried throughout the night.

 

On the mat, Varsity Wrestling delivered a strong performance, securing a 47-18 victory over LuHi. Sami Uyanik ’25 and Carlos Rohm ’26 reached key milestones, earning their 20th and 21st wins of the season.

 

Girls Varsity Basketball extended their undefeated season with a commanding 62-34 win over Maria Regina, led by seniors Izzy Wesley (19 points) and Nyla Blake-Soden (16 points). Boys Varsity Basketball closed out the night with a dominant 72-50 victory over Trinity, energizing the home crowd.

 

Offsite, the Boys Varsity Squash team mirrored the Girls success earlier in the week, securing a 6-1 win over Riverdale in the first round of the Ivy League Tournament.

 

As the winter sports season nears its final stretch, the Tigers are setting their sights on postseason play, eager to build on the energy and momentum from Warren Hines Night.
