Dalton Shines at the 57th Annual New York State Scholastic Chess Championships

With over 1,700 students registered, Dalton fielded one of the largest teams as it demonstrated both skill and resilience across multiple divisions.

Our players delivered outstanding performances, securing three third-place team finishes in the Middle School Championship, Primary School Championship, and K-1 Championship sections. Most notably, Elliott Goodrich ‘31 was crowned Middle School Champion, taking home the first-place individual title in the division.

Beyond the competition, the weekend was filled with camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a deep appreciation for the game. Families and coaches reflected on the students’ dedication and growth, highlighting student teamwork, motivation, and passion.
